EurovisionPicks has received its first artist message of the 2026 Eurovision season.
Polish singer Alicja Szemplińska shared a short video greeting for Eurovision fans and answered a few questions about her Eurovision journey.
I feel great. I feel motivated and honoured to have this opportunity again. For the past six years, the topic of Eurovision has been constantly present in my life. It kept coming back again and again. I know that both my fans in Poland and fans across Europe have been waiting for my return.
Even though this time it happened towards the end of the selection season, it’s still an incredible experience. Maybe it’s even more exciting, because fans are always curious about the final announcements. And who knows, maybe the last ones will end up being the first ones.
Absolutely. The support has been enormous. My fans truly exceeded all my expectations. The amount of love I received during the promotional campaign for Pray has been incredible.
I had the chance to meet some of them in person, and I received hundreds of wonderful messages and comments. Many of them even recorded videos, covers and creative content inspired by my song.
I’m still a bit in shock because of how supportive they’ve been. I feel very grateful and also very motivated not to disappoint them in the next stages.
Yes, I definitely feel that way. But it’s happening on a completely different level than I could have imagined back in 2020.
At that time I was still a teenager entering this world. I was less confident and didn’t really know where life would take me in the following years.
Today I’m Alicja — someone who is much more aware of who she is, someone who writes her own songs, knows what she wants and goes after it.
I’m fulfilling my dreams consciously now. And even if it sounds a bit cliché, I truly believe everything happens for a reason. I feel like I’m returning to the Eurovision stage much stronger than I was six years ago.
Back in 2020, one of the most exciting things was seeing the support from people in Poland and across Europe and watching their reactions to my song. I was also excited about the idea of meeting those people in real life.
Now we are finally getting to that moment. We’ve already had our first trip to Vienna to film the Eurovision postcards, and even there I could feel the incredible excitement around the project.
Meeting other musicians and connecting through music is probably the most exciting part for me. Music brings together different cultures, and for us as artists, experiences are the biggest source of inspiration.
Eurovision is an amazing platform to meet people and discover different kinds of music. There’s nothing more inspiring than that.
Fight for your freedom and for your dreams. Never give up.
We’d like to thank Alicja for taking the time to send a message and answer our questions for the EurovisionPicks community.
